Materials Science
Materials science and engineering (MtSE) is an interdisciplinary activity that applies the principles of sciences and engineering to understanding the behavior of materials.

Why Study Materials Science and Engineering at NJIT?

This intercollegiate (CSLA and NCE), interdepartmental, and interdisciplinary degree program is intended for individuals with a strong background in science and/or engineering.

The mission of the NJIT Materials Science and Engineering program is to provide graduate education and research opportunities for students and professionals in the theoretical, experimental, and analytical foundations of materials science and in the engineering use, modification, and application to the structures and products of the technological age. Graduates will be prepared for new or enhanced positions in industry, government, and the academy.
